Subscriptions & Billing

Woodland Hills EMS operates an annual Subscription Drive.  This provides us capital to make, much needed, upgrades to equipment and training but it is also a benefit to those who subscribe. 

Many insurance carriers do not cover an entire ambulance bill.  This could leave you with hundreds of dollars out of pocket to pay the remainder of the bill.  

Costs to Subscribe:

2020-2021 SUBSCRIPTION RATES

 

INDIVIDUAL

 

 

$50.00

 

Individual coverage for a resident living alone. Covers up to 50% of the portion of ambulance billing not paid by insurance.

 

FAMILY

 

 

$65.00

 

Covers a resident family living at the address of service recipient. Covers up to 50% of the portion of ambulance billing not paid by insurance.

 

SENIOR

 

$35.00

Individual coverage for a resident senior citizen, aged 62 and over, living alone. Covers up to 50% of the portion of ambulance billing not paid by insurance.

 

SENIOR HOUSEHOLD

 

 

$40.00

 

Covers a resident senior family (at least one household member of age 62) property owner living at the address of service recipient. Covers up to 50% of the portion of ambulance billing not paid by insurance.

 

BUSINESS

 

 

$125.00

 

Covers an owner or employee non-resident of the primary communities we serve for 50% of the portion of ambulance billing not paid by insurance.

TERMS: Subscription to WHEMS, Inc., entitles the subscriber to unlimited medically necessary emergency ambulance transportation and limited non-emergency medically necessary ambulance transportation, based on availability of crew and vehicle. Medical necessity is determined by Federal and State Regulation and Guidance for Ambulance Service Operations and Billing. Coverage is defined above in the sections applicable to the subscriber. Patient or family member must provide accurate insurance billing information at the time of service, as well as a signature authorizing billing. Any payment provided directly to the subscriber from the insurance carrier must be turned over to WHEMS in its entirety, without regard to subscription level. Failure to remit payment for services rendered, or to turn over any payments received by the patient for services, will result in legal or other action on the part of WHEMS to collect any payment due.

If you choose to pay for you subscription online, proceed to the Donation Page on this website and follow the Subscription instructions.  Please include your name, address and any additional family members on your donation.  If you pay by check through you bank, please mark "subscription" in the memo area of your check.
